W. J. Rohwedder
W. J. Rohwedder (Ph.D., University of California-Berkley; M.S., University of
Michigan) is a professor in the Department of Environmental Studies and Planning at Sonoma
State University. His research is focused on environmental education, environmental technology,
and computer-aided communications. Dr. Rohwedder is one of the founders of Sonoma State’s
Environmental Technology Center, an interactive and integrative facility where faculty,
students, and community members from a wide variety of disciplines can work together in applied
research training, academic study, and collaborative environmental projects. His interest in
technological applications also led him to create EcoNet, the world's first computer network
dedicated to environmental preservation and sustainability. Dr. Rohwedder recently served as a
consultant to the Middle East Peace Process and as a visiting scholar at the George Lucas
Foundation.
