Martha C. Monroe

Martha C. Monroe (Ph.D., M.S., University of Michigan) is an assistant professor at the School of Forest Resources and Conservation, University of Florida (USA), and an extension specialist in natural resources education. Her work in environmental education has included teaching, facilitating instructor workshops, developing curriculum, and conducting research on the human dimensions of wildland-urban interface issues. Her recent work on the Wildland Fire Education Toolkit won national recognition through the USDA–Extension Flagship Awards Program (2001). Dr. Monroe is the author of What Works and co-editor with Brian Day of Environmental Education and Communication Strategies for a Sustainable World. Dr. Monroe has worked in over 20 countries.
