John H. Hoagland
John H. Hoagland is chairman of The J-Net Group, Inc. and its subsidiary company,
Ecology Communications, a leading producer and distributor of environmental
programs for cable television, government, and industry. After graduating from
Yale University in 1951, his career took him in numerous directions, including
government service, management consulting, publishing, and television
production. Mr. Hoagland was general manager of The Christian Science Monitor
and head of its broadcasting activities. He also served as a founding board
member of the International Media Fund and as a member of the U.S. Department
of State’s Advisory Committee on International Communications and the Satellite
Advisory Committee of the U.S. Information Agency. In late 1989, he was one of
six private citizens appointed to the State Department's Special Task Force on
Telecommunications and Broadcasting in Eastern Europe.
