Brian A. Day

Brian A. Day (M.S., University of Michigan) is editor of Applied Environmental Education and Communication and also the founder and President of the International Institute for Environmental Communication. Prior to the Institute he served as director of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s GreenCOM Project for Environmental Education and Communication, which is administered by the Academy for Educational Development. From 1995 to 2002, he managed and provided technical direction to a Washington-based team of senior EE&C professionals as well as coordinating field activities in over 30 countries. Prior to joining GreenCOM, Mr. Day was Director of Media Relations at the World Wildlife Fund and the Conservation Foundation and Director of Communications at the Environmental Defense Fund. A frequent speaker at international conferences, he serves on the board of directors for the North American Association for Environmental Education. He is also a member of the IUCN Commission on education and communication. Mr. Day co-edited the book Environmental Education & Communication for a Sustainable World: Handbook for International Practitioners with Martha C. Monroe.
